Challenge:
During my service as the Design Consultant for Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, I led the project of design and development of his personal website. My goal was to create a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate website. Another important aspect of this website was to bring people closer to the Prime Minister and make a way for them to establish a communication with the then Prime Minister and make them feel heard.
To achieve this, I conducted research to understand the scope and needs of the Prime Minister’s audience and created a design concept that included key features such as reader-friendly and downloadable speeches which facilitated both the normal visitors, journalists and news agency, infographics for visual demonstration of the progress, and a political timeline. I also designed a messaging system within the website through which visitors could write their issues, queries, problems, or any message to the Prime Minister which reached directly to his Personal Secretariat.
Working closely with the developer, I ensured that the design was technically feasible and optimized for all devices. I also placed a strong emphasis on user-friendliness, designing intuitive navigation menus and clear call-to-action buttons. The final product was a comprehensive and user-friendly website that showcases the Prime Minister’s achievements and vision for Nepal.
After the completion of design and development, I also led the content team throughout his term as the Prime Minister to oversee the smooth operation and timely update of the website and helped maintain the values and missions with which the project first began.
